There is nothing like getting the keys to your new office. It is truly thrilling.

You walk around and pace off the size and positioning of the desks, you test out the chairs, you plug in the lamps, you set up the printer, you connect up the Internet, you find the bathrooms, you brew up the first pot of coffee. You look across and smile broadly at your business partners, you look deep into your own heart, you feel the excitement of what is and what is to come.

Here at Parson & Associates, it is no different. It is a new day, and we have a new office!! If you haven’t guessed it, we are nearly over the moon with our new setup.

Unique for us is the vibrancy of our new office, located in the Historic Lincoln Building at 18th and Vine in Kansas City, Missouri. For those of you who are not familiar, 18th and Vine is internationally recognized as one of the cradles of jazz. Along with New Orleans’s Basin Street, Beale Street in Memphis, 52nd Street in New York City and Los Angeles’ Central Avenue — the 18th and Vine area is often thought of as a midwife to the birth of a new style of jazz. (For those of you who don’t know the Parson team, our Jason Parson is the grandson of the internationally renowned jazz pianist, bandleader and songwriter Jay “Hootie” McShann, … and so to be at 18th and Vine is particularly heartfelt and special.)

Located just east of Downtown Kansas City, 18th and Vine is the Kansas City metropolitan area’s historic center of African American culture. The Historic Lincoln Building historically served as a hub of professional and business activity in the Black community. The building was restored in the early 1980s by the Black Economic Union of Kansas City, and continues to serve this purpose today.

For Parson & Associates, in 2012 and beyond, we too are ready to serve as a hub for professional and business activity in our community. As an MBE and Section 3 Certified business concern that provides public involvement, governmental affairs, communications, and workforce development services, our work makes for an office that is at the heart of it all!

So give us a call, drop by for a cup of coffee, maybe come when you can spare a moment to walk through our historic and amazing 18th and Vine neighborhood. We can’t wait to see you! We can’t wait to work together and dream up something big!

Sincerely, the Parson & Associates Team
