Ground has been officially broken and construction prep is underway at 27th and Prospect in Kansas City, Missouri  in anticipation of the new KCPD East Patrol Station and Crime Lab Campus.  To add to the excitement, Helix Architecture + Design, with Wellner Architects, has released the refined design renderings of the new campus.

The $74 million, 17-acre project will include the police division station with community room, a state-of-the-art crime lab, and a property and evidence depository.  The project is being funded by the City’s Public Safety Tax Renewal approved by voters in November of 2010 and is a first-of-its-kind  investment in Kansas City’s Third Council District.  Located centrally in the City’s urban core, the modern campus will provide added police presence and serve a redevelopment anchor for what the Federal Government labels a “blighted” area.  The project is being governed by HUD  Section 3 guidelines, providing additional employment and contracting opportunities for low-income residents and businesses.   Construction is scheduled to be completed in winter 2015-2016.

Parson & Associates is honored to serve with the KCPD Capital Improvements Unit and A Joint Venture – J.E. Dunn Construction/Alexander Mechanical  as the chief communications contact during construction of  new East Patrol Station and Crime Lab  Campus.  For more information:
