Last Friday, I had the privilege of attending the 4th annual Community Guardian Awards Celebration hosted by the Adhoc Group Against Crime.
This was a wonderful opportunity for Kansas City to gather and recognize those who serve as great ambassadors in our community. The more than 100 individuals gathered at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Plaza also celebrated and honored Alvin Brooks on his birthday.
Congratulations to all the award recipients:
- Jeannette Nichols received the Torch Award
- Zed Smith, of the Cordish Company, received the Business Award
- Bishop James Dennis Tindall, Sr. received the Shield Award
- J. Erik Dickinson, of the Urban Rangers, received the Nonprofit Award (pictured here)
We at Parson and Associates send our thoughts and prayers to the Brooks family as they tackle some very personal health struggles. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Brooks strength and hope for a speedy recovery.
