The KC Streetcar Expansion Project – Next Rail KC – made a stop at 18th and Vine this week to gather public input on the proposed 18th Street Corridor and Independence Avenue Corridor. The three-dimensional corridor models were on display in the Lincoln Building lobby Tuesday through Friday, allowing area residents and business owners the opportunity to interact with the displays using blocks, yarn, cups, sticky notes and pens to provide input directly on the models.

As the streetcar system expands, the City is gathering feedback, from residents and conducting site assessments to help guide decisions about which corridors should be further explored. Three-dimensional models of the seven potential corridors will continue to travel through the project area. You can find out more about future workshops and view more photos by visiting our Facebook page or the project pages listed below.

This community driven process was set up by the City Council and is funded by the City of Kansas City, MO. Parson & Associates is working on community outreach in conjunction with the project team, including: BNIM, HDR, HNTB, Tailiaferro and Browne, Draper Communications and Vireo.
