Commitment to Community Service
At Parson + Associates (P+A), we are fully dedicated to making Kansas City the best metro area in the Midwest. We proudly commit to community service projects that, as a veteran-owned business, are very dear to our hearts.
The Project MRE Story
For soldiers serving in the field, away from the comforts of home, the MRE (meal, ready-to-eat) is a self-contained meal that provides the nutrition a soldier needs to sustain him or herself. As a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, Jason Parson remembers well how vital it was to have those MREs, and more importantly, how much his fellow soldiers have given and continue to give to their country.
The Project MRE is the result of Jason’s vision and deep desire to honor our area veterans through community service. What started as a dinner and reception, has evolved into a semi-annual meal and care package delivery to veterans across the Kansas City region.
Project MRE Impact
During its inaugural year, Project MRE served 160 veterans and their families a home-cooked meal from a local Kansas City restaurant, PeachTree Cafe’teria. An additional 80 meals were delivered to homebound veterans and their families. In 2018, the P+A team delivered approximately 500 hot meals, in addition to reusable water bottles, lotion, socks and reusable bags.
At P+A, we look forward to increasing the number of veterans honored and served each year. Please contact us for information about supporting our Project MRE efforts through a corporate sponsorship, partnership, in-kind donation, personal donation, or volunteer support.
