What do you do?
It never fails, when meeting a new person or perhaps catching up with a distant family member, they ask – “What do you do?’  Often it’s a struggle to give a clear and concise answer, which is a bit ironic as a communications professional.

Until now
Founded in 2007 by Jason Parson, Parson + Associates (P+A) is a public relations (PR) firm dedicated to providing clients with a wide range of services. While there are many PR practices in Kansas City, P+A is unique in a number of ways. One of the most notable is that we hold several certifications: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE). However, as with most small businesses, we continue to navigate the challenges of growing our presence in the Kansas City metro area.

As we ushered in the new year in January – the traditional time to reflect on the past and look toward the future – the P+A team made it a priority to dedicate time to plan for 2019 and beyond. Since P+A’s inception, our number one priority has always been to serve our clients. This was a unique opportunity to temporarily shift that focus inward to reflect on our accomplishments, evaluate our current status and plan for the future.

The Process
The first step in that process was to establish our mission statement. During a series of strategic planning sessions in early 2019, we engaged in open dialogue and some fun communications exercises, along with a traditional SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Together, we reached a better understanding of our purpose and direction, and were able to craft a new mission statement that pieces together the essence of our work.

P+A Mission: To engage people and tailor messages to build a bridge between complex ideas and common sense solutions.

Day in and day out, individually and collectively, we work to achieve that mission for our clients and community. We cut through the jargon and clear roadblocks to build connection and engagement. Our team works tirelessly to establish the type of understanding that fosters success. This is exactly what we do.

Now, how we can help you, do what you do?
