“Serving Those Who Serve Our Country” Veterans Dinner
Disabled veteran and business owner organizes free dinner to recognize fellow veterans
WHAT: Disabled veteran and business owner, Jason Parson, along with Kansas City Parks & Recreation will host a free dinner for homeless or struggling veterans in honor of Veterans Day.
WHO: Invitees are U.S. Veterans and their guests, most especially homeless and transitioning veterans.
Special volunteers include: Mayor Sly James; City Manager Troy Schulte; Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo; Councilman Scott Wagner, 1st District at Large; Councilman Jermaine Reed, 3rd District have volunteered to serve the veterans and their guests.
The following agencies will be on-hand to provide resources or answer questions: City of Kansas City, Mo. Parks & Recreation Department; VFW; Rockhurst University’s Prosperity Center for Financial Education; Veterans Court.
Transportation to and from the event will be provided free of charge by Kansas City, Mo. Parks & Recreation Department and Uber.

WHY: Disabled veteran and Parson & Associates owner, Jason Parson, served his country in the United States Army and the United States Air Force during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jason has always wanted to find a way to honor and thank his fellow veterans. He hopes to provide a good meal to up to 200 dinner guests, with plans to grow that number each year.
